SPECIALIST AND OUTPATIENT CLINICS

The new hospital is designed to create a more accessible, consumer-centered healthcare experience with key outpatient and specialist services co-located on the ground floor.

Outpatients will have access to a wide range of healthcare services in one convenient location, including:

* Renal
* Cancer care
* Hospital in the Home
* Pregnancy Care Clinic
* All Outpatient Clinics including Cardiology, Ophthamology, Pregnancy Care and Paediatric clinics
* Aboriginal Maternal and Infant Health Service
* All specialist consultations
* Rehabilitation and Allied Health Services, including two gymnasiums

By co-locating these services, the new hospital enhances care coordination, improves communication among staff, and streamlines clinical workflows— addressing challenges in the current hospital where services are spread across multiple buildings.

The new hospital will feature 38 consultation rooms—nearly four times more than the current 10—ensuring greater capacity for appointments and improving specialist care. Increased capacity for telehealth options will allow for remote consultations, reducing the need for in-person visits when appropriate and improving access to specialist care for all community members across the district.

Outpatient services are located within easy reach of the hospital main entry and feature lounge areas with comfortable seating. Patients and visitors can enjoy the seating and offerings of the café and Hospital auxiliary kiosk, while a landscaped central courtyard provides an outdoor option with fresh air and comfortable seating.

Griffith Regional Art Gallery will curate rotating exhibitions of local artwork, and a permanent social history exhibit showcases the healthcare services which have supported Griffith’s community since the early 1900s.
